Lower That Low!!!

I will admit that I have watched some South Park in the past. Now that I have said that, I will tell you why I will never watch the show again. I was watching a news show the other day when they ran a segment about South Park's newest skit. I showed a halloween party in Hell. The late great Steve Irwin was at this party with a stingray sticking out of his chest. This has pissed me off(sorry) to no end. If you remember my first post was about the lack of respect given to Steve Irwin. If you don't remember, or if you are reading my blog for the first time, check it out. It's in my previous posts. This was one of the lowest acts I have ever seen. I am proud one of my children didn't come into the room when this was on. It would have upset them as it did I and my wife. This is something I feel very passionate about. The Croc Hunter deserves better! He has brought so much joy to so many people, and this is the way he gets repayed! I think I'll become a "Croc" Hunter myself, but I don't have to look far! I found a big "Croc" on Comedy Central! As if that weren't bad enough, they didn't apoligize for it! They simply laughed it off and said that there true fans would not be offended. I hope they are offended. I hope this is the final straw for that show. I'll NEVER, NEVER, EVER, watch that show again! I also encourage all who read this to do the same. I'm The Eyeball, and that's what I see.

No More Manning

It's been a while since my last rant, so I decided it was about time. I was watching football acouple of weeks ago when during halftime a commercial came on. It was Peyton Manning wearing a goofy wig and a greasy mustache. He was talking about himself in the third person, trying to sell me a cell phone. I changed the channel to the other game and again there he was, coming out of a football, trying to sell me a sports drink. I got up to get a snack and use the bathroom. When I came back there he was again as a kid with a big head. At least this time there were different sports figures with him. I changed back to the game I was watching. Guess who had a commercial on? Yep, this time he was cheering on everyday people at everyday jobs for a credit card company. I have seen other ads at other times. My least favorite is the one for a television service where the Colts are beating the Titans, my favorite team, and he suggests that we should change the channel to watch his brother Eli. My extreme dislike of Manning not withstanding, I just have one question. Do these companies think he is the only NFL star to sell their products? I think I have only seen, maybe, two more NFL stars in commercials. Don't get me wrong he is a good quarterback. He has a great arm and can put the ball anywhere he wants. That not withstanding, there are other NFL stars to sell products. I guess Manning can put all these endorsement deals with all of his Super Bowl, AFC Championship, and NCAA National Championship trophies....wait a minute, he doesn't have any. He chokes in the big game a publicly blames it on his team. Yeah, I want a guy like that selling my products. I'm the Eyeball, and that's what I see.

Proud Parent

If you read my profile, you will see that I enjoy playing Heroclix. I try to play in tournaments whenever I can. My children also enjoy playing. My oldest, which is eight, wanted so badly to play in a tournament. I said I would let them if they got the honor roll, A or B. I was proud when the report card showed the A honor roll. I kept my promise and took the child to the tournament. There were eight other pretty experienced players there. I was worried about her chances. I was amazed when my child won the first round. The second round came and a loss. It was a good effort though. The third round came with another win. A fourth place finish overall in the tournament was pretty good. I finished dead last in my first Heroclix tournament. I was also pleased when my child was voted to get the sportmanship prize. I was so proud, mostly about the A honor roll but also, with a good showing at the tournament. I'm the Eyeball, and that's what I (proudly) see.

Spoil Sport

I think Jeff Fisher was reading my last post. It was good to see Vince Young start. He made a few rookie mistakes but I think he played fairly well. It was too bad his start was overshadowed by Albert Haynesworth's heinous act. That was completely un-called for. This is no different from someone coming into your workplace and hitting you with a two-by-four. He deliberately tried to take away that man's ability to play. That man has to make a living just like anyone else. Suspending Haynesworth for five weeks is not enough. This man should be out for the rest of the season. It pains me to say that because I am a Titan's fan and the defense would suffer greatly without him, but there is no call for this kind of behavior. I'm The Eyeball and that's what I see.
